Modifications:
- Added beads in Chart 4. I had a few leftover and used them up, down the vein of the leaf and used some tiny delica beads using wire as well. Though they’re so small you can’t really see them in the photo.
- Used a crochet cast off. I made another WS row before starting the cast off. Used Loopy’s details as a starting point. With a 3.5mm hook - this is exactly what I did:
k2tog, ch4, k2tog, ch6, k3tog [(ch6, k3tog) x2, ch 6, k5tog, (ch6, k3tog) x5, ch6, k5tog, (ch6, k3tog) x2, ch6, k2tog, ch4, k3tog, ch4, k2tog]
Repeat instructions between square brackets until final 7 sts, ch6, k3tog, ch6, k2tog, ch4, k2tog.
One thing I had issues with when I was learning how to do a crochet cast off, was exactly how to do the kXtog stitches. For example, when you get to a k3tog, you’ll have a stitch from the previous ch on the hook (this doesn’t count as part of the 3 sts) so the yarn is pulled through 3 sts from the knitting needle and the st on the hook (4 sts total).
Taking part in my first KAL. The pattern is lovely, though found an error with the Chart key part way through but not unduly bothered about it - I don’t think it’s a very obvious mistake. Made Chart 4 with the correct decreases though.
