I didn’t do the garter cuff as per the pattern, as I wanted to just have a fleecy edge to the booties. So I cast on with 3.25 needles and Snowflake yarn; worked 4 rows in garter stitch, changed to 3.5 needles and plain yarn and knit 16 rows. Didn’t cut yarn.

Used new length of yarn to knit instep - 16 rows.

Using original yarn, k12, pick up sts along side instep, knit 10 centre stitches, pick up sts along other side instep, knit 12.

Sk2p = Sl 1, K2tog, PSSO

One pair was knitted in the round but I prefer to knit them with straights, and think it’s faster as the seam takes moments whereas in the round it takes a lot of jostling with dpn’s.

I joined the sole with kitchener stitch.

Button tab: Cast on 15 stitches and knit 7 rows, cast off, to make a button tab as did mubba0mine in her beautiful project ”Baby Steps” which I modelled mine on. Thank you mubba0mine!

The brown and the blue booties were knitted with a finer DK yarn. I knitted the size 6 months for the brown and 3 months for the blue, and I’d say those booties are about 3-6 months in size. The fawn booties, still a DK but a thicker DK, were knitted from the 3 months instructions and are about 6-9 months.
