This is a colour experiment gone wrong. I wanted to use a different shade of light brown. One that would go nicely with white and ecru, so that I would get a graduated tone effect. Unfortunately, the colour I saw on a monitor was very different from what actually exists. However, I did not have a heart to frog the brown section (especially that it was not a continuous thread segment), so I just kept working on it. Still, once I put a vase or something in the middle, the brown section won’t really be visible and it actually doesn’t look that bad on a dark table.

Well, thanks to another Raveler (see project comments section), I see this doily from a totally new perspective. I love it now.
