A relatively easy and surprisingly quick project.
Usually, I find working from a chart easier, but not in this case. I frequently got lost in the chart and made mistakes. After I started working using written instructions only, the knitting went much faster and easier. I used approx. 175g of yarn.
Pattern errors (?):
My copy of the pattern had a couple of mistakes in the written section (charts were correct).
Part 9 (chart3)
row 39:
it is: sl1, k2, yo, k2tog, p1, k7, p2, k1, yo, k2tog,, p1, k1, yo, k1, p1, k2, etc…
instead, the section in the bold type should be:
yo, k1, yo as per chart 3
row 52:
it is: sl1, k2, yo, k2tog, k1, p7, k1,, k2tog, k1, yo, k2 tog, etc.
instead, the section in the bold type should be:
k2 as per chart 3
row 58:
it is: sl1, k2, yo, k2tog, k1, k3,, k2, yo, k2tog, etc.
instead, the section in the bold type should be:
k2 as per chart 3
YARN:
Generally speaking, I’m not very impressed. I bought it mainly because of the colourway.
Pros:
Reasonable price for the amount of yarn (I got mine on eBay).
Nice, deep colorways. Nice, long color repeats.
Cons:
Somewhat scratchy (softer than Kauni). Did not soften after a wash.
Very prone to felting.
Definitely not color fast. When I washed (soaked, really) my scarf, a LOT of dye came off. Afterwards, the colors of my scarf were not as saturated/intense as before.
Tends to pill. Sheds a bit while knitting with it. After a gentle wash/soak it bloomed considerably.
My skein had a lot of little twig/grass bits in it.
