Notes

I’m taking the frogged yarn, updating the same project, and knitting the Louisa tunic top down with raglan.

I cast on 30/30/30 provisional crocheted caston, then left more stitches on the needles and when increasing on the front edges, knit into those stitches, with the caston yarn.

Doing it again I would do 25/35.

I increased at different rates, separated at 66/88 because the lace repeat was a multiple of 11. It’s a little big or will be in the future.

I really like the effect. Will do more like this.

Switched to size 4s below the bust decreases.

SLEEVES: pick up on size 4s, pick up 7 extra stitches under arm, reduce them back down. Do 4 rows of lace. Then…..

Must cut out the sides and do kitchener, there’s an extra bazillion inches on each side. Bottom sucks too.

Based on this http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/top-down-lace-car... but am just faking it, doing 13wide triangles. I never actually read the pattern. I’m leaving out the pretty extra scallop in the middle because even on DKs with size threes it’s a little too loopy--I knit looser than a drunken sailor who knits loose.

Cast on 7/44/7.

Did 13-wide triangles, plus yo increases at the raglan lines, figured it out by the seat of my pants. It’s not perfect but in my opinion NLTC. (nobody looks that close.)

Separated sleeves at 56 stitches and it was none too loose so I cast on a few extra under the arm. Back was 93. Front was 45 and I cast on 10 more.

The yarn is nice. It has more “sproing” than I would have expected, though with only 30% linen and the rest acrylic and rayon, I guess that’s normal. A little annoyingly splitty but I’m also not used to size 3 needles. 120 yards on size 3s didn’t get me to sleeve separation, probably 30 yards shy of that. After 2 skeins am an inch and a half below the armpit.

Switching to size 2s to make the waist a little smaller.

Will do small silver buttons.

This got way bigger than I wanted, but I like it now with the cap sleeve vestish effect. It’ll be a cute coverup during the summer.

WEAR:
with a cute narrow short skirt
or long black skirt
add ribbon
i think again jeans over little tank top
