Notes

My plan: to use up every inch of this yarn as much as possible. If needed, I will use a grey or black yarn for the edges.

January 29, 2019

Since I am using fingering weight yarn and 4mm needles, I provisionally cast on 8 less stitches than the pattern design. I did not work the edge as directed. Instead, I will work this whole skein for the body and use another yarn for the edges.

February 1, 2019

I calculated that it takes 3g per pattern stitch set, and will use 34-36 repeats. We will see when I get to the halfway mark of 46.5 grams.

It took a year to finish this project, not because of the difficulty in the pattern, but because the original recipient (a family member) made a not-so-nice comment about my knitting being an “old woman’s work” hobby. The unblocked scarf sat in timeout until I made a new friend who appreciated and deserved its lace beauty. <3
