Notes

February 1, 2018

I have been wavering (get it?) between this steeked Cardigan and the April pullover. My BFF pointed out that I already have a green/grey sheep sweater, and that I have a grey cabled “jacket” cardigan. So my next Hokie sweater is this pattern (which I fell for when I first saw it 2 years ago).

Thanks to my daughter losing her orange Vintage mittens, I decided to swap out the colors so I can make her another pair. Instead of frogging the beginning sleeve, I turned it into a coffee cup cover. It weighs 21g, and I have split the yardage between the Peruvia and Vintage to get the calculated total of 41 yards.

February 6, 2018

I finished the first sleeve. Now it is onto the 2nd sleeve before the Olympic opening ceremonies!

Turned in coffee cup sleeve for Divination February 2018 homework.

I am finally joining the sleeves to the body for the yoke. Photos to come shortly!

March 13, 2018

The knitting is all done. Because I made a longer body length, I had to wind up a 5th skein and almost used all of it. Now I need to weave in the ends, steam block the sweater, reinforce the steek rows, cut up the sweater, and add the zipper.

March 14, 2018

I decided that I wanted to make this cardigan more like a henley, and bought a 7-inch grey zipper for the opening. Now I need to work the infrastructure parts before the cut!

March 17, 2018

The steamer needed cleaning, so I had to wait a day before washing and blocking. Today I crochet steeked and cut the sweater successfully. BUT, now that the sweater was blocked, I need a longer zipper. So I decided to seam up the steek and wear the garment as a pullover.

Turned in for my “Take a Hike” Mission Challenge in Winter 2018 term.
