Since this pattern doesn’t have any instructions for the heel or toe, I’m using the directions for 4-stitch ribbing patterns in Charlene Schurch’s Sensational Knitted Socks, using the 2 circular method.

Cast on 64 stitches using the Old Norwegian cast on and did 12 rows of 2x2 ribbing for a 1.5 inch cuff.

I knit 25 repeats of the 4-row pattern for the leg. Now onto the heel!

I’ve finished knitting the foot. I did 12 full pattern repeats. Somehow my gusset decreases got off and one side has one more decrease than the other. I don’t know what I did wrong, I’m pretty sure when I started the gusset decreases I had the same number of stitches each needle. Oh well, the sock looks fine.

I’m also very happy that these socks have no gusset holes! I love Charlene Schurch’s method of picking up extra stitches at the heel flap corner.

I finished the first sock. I messed up on the grafting, I guess I lost track of where I was. There are no holes or anything but I ended up with more stitches on one needle than the other. Oh well, I will go over it when I weave in the loose end. This toe on this sock feels a little tighter than the first pair I made, yet also feels like it fits better. After wearing them I’ll decide how I like this toe.

I finished both socks. The toe in the first sock felt a little tight and so I added a couple of rows to the second sock. I alternated decrease and knit rows until there were 24 stitches left instead of 32, and then did just decrease rounds until I was down to 16. I wanted to redo the toe of the first sick but I couldn’t figure out how to undo it so I will just live with it and do it better on the next pair of socks.

I really like how these came out.
