Am planning on casting these on for the Ravellinics games. Such a lovely pattern. I adore all of RoseHiver’s patterns. Not only are they beautiful but they are beautifully written. This one is chart only, but that is all that is needed.
Cannot wait to start these but at I will have some time to finish a couple of wip’s I hope.
I used an old madtosh which may or may not be terra? I actually don’t think it is Terra but I have lost the tag and forgotten what it is but it is a peach with pink tones. I have less than a half skein left but cannot remember what I used the first half for. I am not always good at listing all of my stash and projects, especially if traveling when I finish - oops. I paired it with a teal blue String Theory Caper which is darker in colour than the pic in my stash.
Day 1: I say day 1 but the games were on here at 7h last night so this is actually the second day.
Amazingly, actually got to watch the Opening Ceremonies (did not think that I would be able to) and although it was in Arabic and I did not understand a word - well maybe about 8 words total- it was visually a lot of fun. I got an amazing amount knit for me. I am not usually a very fast knitter but the ceremonies were long and I must admit that a very sleepless night afterward ‘helped’. Just could not sleep at all, so I finally gave up and knit until daylight. Tried to go back but still couldn’t so I am knitting instead. Work dinner tonight though so I hope I don’t crash while we are eating. I meant to start with a provisional cast on but forgot. oops. Still no problem - not sure if I will line these or not yet anyway. I knit a cuff lining with a floral pattern (will post a pic later) and have finished the cuff of the first mitten. The colours are pretty but not my favorite. RoseHiver’s are much prettier. I actually wanted to use a red but did not want to use the same colours as the photo so changed my choice. They are much prettier though than my cast on pic shows - more vibrant.
Ready to start the main part of the mitten tonight if I can stay awake after dinner. I have so far knit a cuff lining, then k2tog, yo… for a picot edge, then 3 plain rows before I began the pattern. Am ready to begin the main mitten part now.
Done. Unlined interior except for a cuff lining as they fit perfectly as is. I made the finish line with a almost 2 days to spare.
