What do you do when you want to start a project right away, but you don’t have the “correct” yarn? Well, in the case of most accessories, I start it anyway using whatever yarn I have on hand!

I had just bought this soft and silky neutral laceweight yarn from Stitches West, and wanted a quick knit to start on the flight back to Sweden. I knew that the end result would be a much smaller cowl, but I also thought that would suit me much more than the standard size.

Finished Size: 18” circumference at the top, and 15” tall at the center.

Final thoughts: I love it! The alpaca is a very warm yarn, even though it’s light-weight. The small-sized cowl is the perfect accessory with a cardigan or blazer.
