Why stranded knitting and Intarsia?? I think this pattern is perfect for doubleknittig as well. The instructions are not very detailed and the pattern graphic in my opinion does not lead to the optical result, as shown in the photos. the squares should be squares and the lines the same width, vertical as horizontal. Because double knit fails a little more fluffy, it is enough to knit with a single strand of yarn. I made various gauge tests and reduced the pattern to 2 horizontal repeats. This gives me a width of 50cm, which is enough for me.
