Something old, something new.

These hexagons are connected, so there are no ends to weave in for each unit. They have a zipper up the middle, so there is no seaming. But it’s like entrelac, and there is lots of casting on for the new sides of each unit. Lots o’ tedius fun!

I worked a size medium unit for the foot and ankle, then an extra tier of size large at the calf. These worked out to be about 9.5” long heel to toe and 8” in circumference.

The yarn is lovely and generous. I also have a blue version (see last photo as well as the pattern link) in Shelby’s gorgeous merino/nylon yarn.
