I used the same yarn as listed on the pattern, and I think a size 4 needle for both ribbing and hat. ?
I thought it would end up looking pointy like the pattern photos, so I started skipping the plain knit round in between the decreases halfway through the decrease section.

Now I wish I had made a longer ribbing. Time to make another!

I think I added a second plain row before starting the chart as well.

There is a bit of a asymmetry throughout the pattern, mostly noticed at the tiny crosses. I promise nobody will notice. slightly_smiling_face
