With a nod to art history and masterpieces made by the greatest artists of the last couple millennia, Stacy Cantrell brings her quirky humor and irreverence for the sacred to Looped, a show of free form macro-crochet. Exploring the dichotomy between fiber and the materials used in the classics, such as hard unyielding marble, Ms. Cantrell re-imagines and reinterprets these iconic pieces using soft, brightly colored yarn to create a surprising new twist on some of the most famous artworks of the modern age. -Kim Ward, Curator
