Notes

Suggested by Mom for Grandma’s Christmas present. (Handknits are kind of becoming a tradition.) Here’s hoping I have enough roving. (Update: Nooooooope.)

The third time through this pattern (well, fifth and sixth really, if you count each sock separately) I think I might actually be getting the hang of this heel. Although I also suspect I’m not exactly following the directions--my row numbers don’t match somehow--but as long as it comes out OK… whatever.

Used 9.5” as the foot length for the socks I knitted her and they seemed to fit OK, so we’ll go with that. Knit to 9” long before starting toe.

Ran out of roving at 7” on the first slipper. Sigh. Ordering more. And one more ball of yarn juuuuust in case, because this is going to be close. (Glad I did. Used ~9g of the new ball!)

12 thrum rows on instep between ankle and toe (not counting the row that remains on stitch holder/third needle while heel is being worked).
