I casted on 60 stitches, then knitted one row and placed a stitch marker after the 30th stitch.

The two-row pattern is:
K to 2 sts before marker, K2Tog, slip marker, SSK, K to end.
Then knit one row plain.

In the end, as soon as I had two stitches remaining, I knitted those two stitches together and then un-did the final loop to leave a shapely corner.
