Off we go to another large project!
I must have made the biggest yarn ball in the world…!!!
Very enjoyable and surprisingly fast project! Super easy and basic pattern.
I love that you don’t need to worry about gauge or size before you are close to separating the sleeves. And just about when you start to get sick of the rows getting longer and longer, you’re on the body:)
The sts looks messy with such big needles knitting stockinette. I hope it looks better after washing. (ETA: it did, the fabric still has occational tiny bumps/holes but I can live with that;) I’m doing body and sleeves a bit longer.
Followed the pattern, the collar was done in linen stitch pattern, intended to calm the redtones a little (3.25 needles, picking up 3 of 4).
It got waaay too big under my arms, not 100% happy with the sleeves either (should’ve done less raglan increases), but overall I’m happy with the result. If I repeat this again I would do less increases and cast on a few more sts under the arms instead. I’d like to make another one in thinner yarn!
For those using the same yarn - the whole cardi feels sproingy and has weird shape prior to blocking. Blocking can also make the body quite a bit longer, and you can shape the body pretty much as you like, no need for decreases and increases. I stretched it out lengthwise and the drape is very nice on the finished result!
I’m not very steady with gauge, but FYI the finished blocked “swatch” (my cardi that is:) seem to be about 22-24 st/10 cm (depend on where I measure… and I don’t know if the pattern gauge is blocked or not, so not very helpful, is it?).
I used about 200g, have still 134 g left of the skein.
