I am knitting Christmas stockings for my niece and her sibling-to-be, due around Thanksgiving. This is for my niece, Lena, who will be almost 3 this Christmas. I’ll do the baby’s stocking when I find out his/her gender, and then add his/her name when he/she is born. If it’s a girl, I will use the same colors and switch them around. If it’s a boy, I will sub out the pink for gray or navy or … ?

I basically used the Cascade pattern, but I did sub out some of the patterns, like the zigzag at the top. I also did a ribbed edging at the cuff. For the duplicate stitch, I used the Siena alphabet from Stitchpoint.com.

I love the way this turned out -- I was tempted to keep it for myself!!
