Mods for 38 bust-cast on 270 knit in round. Sleeve alterations too due to limited yarn amounts. Love the stitch pattern - pretty elastic so fit is forgiving and very easily memorable with stitch markers to guide decreases…Notes below…
Twist on a attempt one. Needle broke on attempt two. Is this project cursed?!?
Change colour for first round and increase 9 stitches front and back to bring up to 144 total around - 288 total. Will be ignoring the increases and knit straight to armpits for 16” (ie working like the Jan sweater).

Armholes:
Cast off 7 sts, at the beg. of each of the next 2 rows, then dec. 1 st. at both ends of every row until 126 sts. rem. Cont, in ptn. without further shaping until the work measures 5 ins. from the armpit., ending at armhole edge.
Shape Neck and Shoulders - Next row: Ptn. 48, turn. Cont. in ptn. on these 48 sts., dec. 1 st, at neck edge on every row until 36 Sts. rem. Work 3 rows without shaping, fin. at armhole edge.
Next row: Cast off 9 sts., work to neck.
Next row: Work to end of row. Rep, these 2 rows once. Cast off rem. sts. Slip the centre 27sts. on to a spare needle and leave for the neck. Cont. in ptn. on the rem. 48sts., dec. 1 st. at neck edge on every row until 36sts. rem. Work 2 rows without shaping, thus ending at the armhole edge. Shape this shoulder as given for the first shoulder.
Back shaping (STILL WORKING ON THIS SECTION SO DON’T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT YET…)
Cast off 7 sts, at the beg. of each of the next 2 rows, then dec. 1 st. at both ends of every row until 126 sts. rem. Cont, in ptn. without further shaping until the work measures 61/2 ins. from the armpit., ending at armhole edge.
Shape Neck at back
Next row: 1st row: Ptn. 42 sts., turn.
2nd row P. 2 tog., p to end.
3rd row: Cast off 9 sts., ptn. to last 2 sts., k, 2 tog.
4th row: P. 2 tog., p. to end.
5th row: Cast off 18 sts., k. to last 2 sts., k. 2 tog,
6th row: P. 2 tog., p. to end. Cast off rem. sts. Slip the centre 42 sts. on to a spare needle and leave for the neck. Re-join wool at needle point and cont. as
follows:
1st row: K. 2 tog., ptn. to end.
2nd row: Cast off 9 sts„ p. to last 2 sts., p. 2 tog.
3rd,row: K. 2 tog., ptn, to end.
4th row: Cast off 18 sts., p. to last 2 sts., p. 2 tog.
5th row: K. 2 tog., k. to end.
6th row: Cast off 9 sts.
Sleeves:
Cast on 81 and K1P1 for 1 1/2” inches. Purl one row, increasing 9 stitches across for 90 stitches. Knit in pattern and decrease as pattern after 3 inches of straight sleeve.
