Throwback to December 14, 2019, aka the Beforetimes. Sitting at Reagan National, waiting for my flight to board, still a bit hungover from last night’s holiday party, texting the BFF with whom I’d brunched a few hours earlier, receiving an email about this year-long KAL project. “You in?” “Sure.” We ordered our respective kits that night and I flew home to Tennessee and then 2020 happened.

Epilogue: I channeled my existential terror into every stitch of this blanket and here it is, right on schedule. The aforementioned BFF, meanwhile, had to abandon ship(/stitch) a few squares in, because she has two small children and guiding them through this year has been a (second) full-time job.

So, yeah. This was a tough one.

I do like my blanket, though - even if two of the squares were knit in a VERY NOTICEABLY DIFFERENT dye-lot. Given that this is effectively a knitted record of 2020, however, it seems appropriate.
