Questionnaire
1. What mitts did you make? (size, method)
blues
Medium flat two at a time
2. Could you obtain gauge with needles called for?
i did the 27 rows for the cuff as pattern
is written and I ended up with a four inch cuff i do not
mind but it was an inch longer. I know the pattern read 3 inches
or 27 rows i wanted to see how much longer the 27 rows was
than the 3 inches
3.Approximately how much yarn did you use?
54 grams or in onces 1.9 ounces
4.Approximately how long did it take you?
6 days: but i only worked on them in car pool so about 12 hours
5.Did you find that the pattern was laid out in a way that was easy to follow?
answer medium
it would be nice if the flat section
was all in one area and the in the round all in one area not mixed
together. It is fine to mix up sizes and sort them with ( ) but
mixing up styles of making is confussing
6.Besides what has been discussed in the forum are there any corrections?
Be nice if it told you better when to add colors and call
colors MC CC CC1 and so on
not a correction but an observation: If using 3 yarns almost
no ends to weave in just carry from one line to the next
7.Are there any sections of the pattern you thought could be clearer?
where color changes happen
8.Do you feel there needs to be more explanatory information in the pattern? i think it needs to be broke up more so that the info that is there is easier to follow
9.Is your finished project true to the projected measurements?
small : see above gauge
10.Does the mitten fit well?
it fits fine I just do not like a seam going up the sid eof my hand if i was not testing i would have knit in the round. But that is a personal preferrance someone who can not knit in the round may not be bothered by it. but since i gave to my oldest daughter she can deal with it since she wanted them i guess she is good with it.
11.Is this something you think you will wear?
Answer for both, I do not usually wear mittens unless they have no fingers or they have five fingers not glove style. The ones with a thumb and a mitt for all four fingers i usually do not wear. because i carry knit and crochet projects with me and have arthritis so I like to be able to wear the goves and still work on projects. But I have three daughters and they will probably wear them. So the version i tested will be worn but probably not by me. If i did it for pesonal choice i woul ddo fingerless version. But i was doing what ever version you needed tested the most. I was happy to do that. Plus i can always use items like this as gifts as i have a hugh family.
12.Did you/Would you make any changes to the pattern?
I would do 1 stitch between the decreses on the fingers so it lays better and does not pull the stitches funny
i would never make a flat version myself for myself but it is nice for others
