Sizing & fit calculations

1. Foot length 9.75”, L = 9.25
2. Foot circumference = 8.5”, sock circumference 8”.
3. Gauge is 3.3 esc spi; stitch count calculation: 3.3 x 8 = 26.4. Rounded up to S = 28.
4. S divided by 5 = 5.6, so I used F = 6.

What I did

Toe - ch 7, 8 rounds to S = 28 and T = 2”.
Foot - worked esc until sock length = L - T = 7.25”. (16 rounds)
Heel - 7 shortening rows to 8 stitches and 6 lengthening rows back again to H (made heel wider than toe).
Leg - 6 rounds for ankle socks.
Cuff - 2 rounds.

Note: The 2nd photo shows the toes of these socks on the right. They have the standard toe shaping. Those on the left are the smaller size in the same yarn for my sister which I made with a shorter, wider toe.
