I wanted a small cross-body bag so only chained 40 to get 80 stitch total (i.e. 8 pattern repeats).

I worked round 1 3 times then followed the chart from round 12, carrying 2nd colour from the 2nd round worked.

I corrected drift to left by working 1sc then 2sc at end of 1st round.

I finished the top edge with a round of slst blo.

I didn’t crochet a strap as I harvested a ready made one from a bag I was discarding.

A couple of notes
- don’t forget modelling to minimise bleeding i.e. tugging on carried yarn to tighten the smoothing out with thumb.
if carried yarn still visible, try working 2nd part of sc as YU instead of YO to tighten stitch.
- if base splays out a bit, work surface slst along spine to gather in.
