Notes

I knit these socks 2 at a time by Magic Loop. I cast on 16 stitches using Judy’s Magic Cast-On, leaving a long tail, and knit one round. I knit the next round with the working yarn and the cast-on tail held double, bringing the stitch count up to 32. After that I made no other modifications to the pattern. I used the Eye-of-Partridge stitch for the faux heel flap and the ribbing option for the cuff. I cast off using Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off. The leg is 9” including the ribbed cuff.

After completing the knitting, I reinforced the bottom of the heel by weaving a strand of the same yarn in a diagonal cross-hatch pattern under the purl bumps on the wrong side. While I expect that this will do a great deal to help prevent wearing holes in the heels, the process was exceedingly tedious and don’t anticipate doing that again.
