YARDAGE IS FOR 3 COZIES

Each of the 3 Santa Hat Chocolate Orange Cozies in this group is a slightly different variation of the same basic pattern. I just kept tweaking what I was doing until I got a good fit.
I never measured my gauge before giving them all away, but I am a tight knitter, so if you choose to duplicate the design using my notes you should keep that in mind.

The final version of what I did is as follows:

With WHITE, C/O 36 sts and join in the round.
Work in 2x2 rib for 4 rounds.
Change to RED and knit 8 rounds.
(K7, K2tog) 4x.
Knit 2 rounds.
(K6, K2tog) 4x.
Knit 2 rounds.
(K5, K2tog) 4x.
Knit 2 rounds.
(K4, K2tog) 4x.
Knit 2 rounds.
(K3, K2tog) 4x.
Knit 2 rounds.
(K2, K2tog) 4x.
Knit 2 rounds.
(K1, K2tog) 4x.
Knit 2 rounds.
K2tog 4x.
Cut yarn. Draw tail through remaining 4 stitches and pull tight. Weave in ends.

Using WHITE, make a small pom pom and sew to top of hat. (I used a fork. Here is a video showing how.)
