My personal pattern (recipe) for a basic, cozy slouch hat.
-pattern is worked with Shibiu silk cloud + Tanis Green Label held double
-blocked dimensions of the finished hat are 21.5 cm (~8.5”) circumference & 21.5 cm (~8.5”) high

Directions
-alternate cable CO 84 sts with
-work 20 rounds of 1x1 twisted ribbing or until brim is ~ 7.5 cm (3”) in length
twisted ribbing = k1tbl, p1; repeat from to end of round
-once ribbing has been completed work 1 increase round as follows;
increase round = k6, m1R; repeat from to end of round (98 sts)
-work rounds in stst or until the piece measures ~ 21.5 cm (8.5”) from CO edge
-Crown shaping = round 1: k1, k2tog; repeat from 32 times, k2 (66 sts) ;
round 2: k 1 round even
round 3: ktog; repeat from to end of round (33 sts)
round 4: k1 round even
-cut yarn leaving ~ 20cm length; thread yarn through remaining sts, pull very tightly & weave in ends
