You can make these as colorful or as elegant and you wish. I chose to make them fun, fun, fun. They were for my youngen and grandyoungens. After my family saw photos of the 4 completed ones, orders came in. I did my best to fill them all before Christmas, but I just am blocking the last one now.
This is a great pattern.. and the way i like to knit. give me the construction concept and let me go to town. i did like the rolled edge. I love to do fair isle/color work, so these were right up my alley. Shown are a couple of photos of finished ones before the Feast of Epiphany (12th day) which really does count for Christmas.. doesn’t it? hahahahaha. (1 day before)
I made some sock forms out of cardboard and sent one along with the stocking so if they wanted to wash them, in the future, they could block them again.
Each stocking took 15 hrs to complete. The majority used 11 different yarns. Some i “cheated on” with self patterning yarns due to time constraints. They are a mixture of worsted and acrylic (self patterning, et al). But since they are for decoration and gift holding, i thought they were fine. And i wanted some really bright colors to bring out the holidays.
There ya go.
