I have had this idea in my head for a long time now - a series of very small weavings, incorporating found objects from various places I love. I am apparently 6 years old at heart, and always collect a pocket-full of stones, shells, feathers, and bark whenever I go out walking.
This represents the damp, oh-so-very-green, fog-enshrouded forests of the Fundy coast in New Brunswick, with its lush, verdant beds of mosses, ancient yellow birches, and trees festooned with lichen. “This is the forest primeval…”
I built a small loom of toothpicks, and used tiny scraps of handspun in greens and browns. Found objects include: sphagnum moss, two types of lichen, yellow birch bark, a feather, and a small twig.
