I used the line-by-line instructions from Culley’s book “The Complete Surprise, Knitting Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Surprise Jacket” He includes Elizabeth’s original instructions, plus he give you a line-by-line with additional notes and tips from him. I found it most helpful.

My knitting group did this as a KAL so that we could help each other. I am please with how my jacket turned out. The Encore yarn worked well. I made the baby jacket to learn the technique. I hope to make an adult one at some point.
