Notes

Cast on 67 stitches for three repeats of pattern. Pattern is featured in Piecework March/April 2016 edition.

I am knitting two separate sections of this pattern, each section ending with a completed row 3. I will not bind off; seaming the two pieces together using a kitchener stitch.

The beads are only added to the beginning first few rows on each section.

You can read an interesting story about this historical pattern on my blog post: http://lillymycat.blogspot.com/2018/03/meet-peter-rabbit-...

This is how I grafted the two sections together:

Pass the needle purlwise through first stitch on the FRONT needle, and leave the stitch ON the needle.
Pass the needle purlwise through the first half-knit stitch on the BACK needle, but take it OFF the needle.
Pass the needle knitwise through the next half-knit stitch on the BACK needle, and leave the stitch ON the needle.
Pass the needle knitwise through the stitch on the front needle, but take it OFF the needle.

The pattern causes a natural wave of the knitted fabric. After grafting the two sections together, soaking the shawl in lukewarm warm and blocking it, the “wave” completely disappeared.
