I had this sock completed except for completing the afterthought heel. When I went to do the heel, I picked up two extra stitches on either side of the heel. After knitting a couple of rows, I found that this did not look good as there was obvious “holes”. Upon further inspection, I found that that the pattern has an error in that there is no slipped stitch on the “first stitch of needle #2”.

Unfortunately, being a perfectionist, I frogged my knitting and now I’m back to the row where I knit with waste yarn for the afterthought heel. Please note to slip first stitch of needle #2 if you want the pattern to look symmetrical.
