I am loving this pattern. It is really flying off the needles. I am hoping to finish the front pieces tonight. The yarn is soft and I love the color, but I have been having a hard time accurately photographing it. (4.29)
Last night I finished the right front and started the back piece. I can’t believe how fast it’s going (4.30).
The fronts and back are done! I had to read the directions about 10 times to figure out what the heck I was doing, but it all worked out. Tonight I have to go buy DPNs so I can start the sleeves and do the neck/button band. Love how it’s turning out (5.1)
omg short rows!!! who knew that wrap & turn was a short row. I’ve pulled them out three times so far. I’ve looked at a bunch of tutorials, but they are so loose on one side. They look horrible. I am really disappointed. Going to try the sleeve for the fourth time tonight. I think I might need to “hide” the wraps, which I didn’t realize was part of the process. (5.3)
After tearing out the short rows three times, I finally got them “good enough” on the first sleeve. Flash forward a couple weeks, and my mother in law taught me the magic loop again. What a difference!! The sleeve was so much easier to do this way, and the beginning of the second looks much, much better. I can’t wait to do other things with magic loop now. Hoping to finish up this thing to give to my niece this weekend. (5.28)
It’s done! I just need to hide the tails, buy some buttons, and block it. I had Maggie try it on this weekend before the button bands were on, and I think it was really cute. (6.3)
I finally found buttons that were decent enough, so this thing is done. I saw these adorable pink wooden heart buttons, but it would have cost $25 for them and I had already splurged on this yarn. Next time I will do less buttons - 7 is too many, but i miscounted when making the holes. Sweater modeled by Maggie & Molly.
