After knitting my cell phone case with this yarn for my first Nerd Wars Flex Schedule challenge (wear something gaudy), my daughter broke the news to me that she managed to lose the first headband I’d knit for her. And she had loved it, so I decided I’d knit her another one for my 2nd Flex project.

I was running a bit low on yarn, so I had to try to figure out how to make a nice wide headband (Lexie needs all the help she can get to keep that hair corralled, especially now that she’s growing out her bangs) with what I had left. That meant a fair bit of knitting and ripping, knitting and ripping. I finally settled on a dropped stitch pattern that would make the band wider with less yarn. I also needed to add a bit to it - just being hot pink and fuzzy wasn’t enough to make this gaudy for her. So I knit a quick flower embellishment to add to it.
