SOCIAL DISTANCING KAL
SPRING 2020
SKILL LEVEL – ARMS LENGTH
At The NeedleTree
This spring 2020 KAL is an excellent project to work on while hunkering down during the Covid-19 alert season. These mitts are elegant, easy and a fabulous way to get a great jump start on gift knitting. These can easily be done without a group class session, and KT and Catherine Paul will be available for FaceTime or other virtual assistance. Why not learn to cable or just knock out some gifts…….. keep safe and hone a skill!
This pattern is from Blue Sky Fibers, one of our perennial favorites, and they have provided us a free copy of this pattern for this KAL! The pattern uses their exquisitely soft Extra. However, if you are in quarantine, about 110 yards of any soft squishy aran or fat worsted works nicely. I got 2 pairs with plenty left over from 1 hank of Blue Sky Extra.
I will provide KAL participants with the PDF copy of the pattern as well as video links for any of the skills. You are welcome to use stash yarns and I have plenty of Extra and several other options available for curbside pick-up. I am available via email, phone and/or FaceTime for help. Catherine Paul will also be available remotely by appointment. To enhance the sense that we really are knitting together, we will have forum threads in the NeedleTree Ravelry group - you’ll need to provide your own coffee and cookies, but let’s pretend we’re gathered around the shop table!
