PIERRE KAL
SUMMER 2019
At The NeedleTree
The Summer 2019 KAL is Pierre by Stephen West. This go-round with Stephen we will explore a bit of texture and for a change of pace will use a DK weight yarn. The pattern can be done as a gradient, color contrasts or even looks beautiful as a solid. As with most shawls, gauge is not critical so if you have some worsted in your stash you want to play with then go for it!
Textured stitch patterns are hi-lighted in this top-down shawl. Bands of stripes, twisted ribbing, and textured triangles compose this fun-to-knit shawl
The pattern calls for four colors of DK or worsted weight yarn. Solids, tonals, and speckled can all play nicely with this pattern. You are also free to use stash yarns or I am happy to help you build a kit from any yarn you want to use.
Catherine Paul will be leading this KAL. In the first KAL meeting Catherine will review the pattern lay-out and the stitch techniques in the pattern. She will also show a few finesse techniques, such as how to wrap your purl for a tidier look. The second meeting will be to review any issues and enjoy each others projects. Class materials include the Pierre pattern, a summary of the skills and Mom’s light refreshments!
