Notes

This looked fast, a good way to use up my Unforgettable, plus I like hoodies.

I used the Unforgettable doubled; it’s worsted weight, but it’s really thin worsted weight. Probably gave me more of a bulky than an Aran, but it’s really pretty and I’m going by the schematic so it doesn’t matter. Ran out of my skein of Dragonfly about thirty stitches from the end. Fingers crossed I can fnd the other skein I’m suppose to have.

Pattern for top back is alternating solid dc and mesh dc (dc, ch1, skip a stitch, etc.). 9” x 20” (should have been 10” x 20”).

Bottom back is 2 rows of dc/1 row of dc mesh, ending three rows dc. (61 stitches. 18 rows) 12” x 20”

Front pattern matched top back: two rows of dc to begin and then alternate dc and dc mesh to match top of back, for a total of 10 rows slip stitching at the shoulder edge. Then work four more rows without slip stitching to neck

Work hood off of neck edge with a J hook instead of increasing stitches, alternating dc and dc mesh for 22 rows (11 holes) ending by sc top of hoodie together.

Front Band is done with dark (Dragonfly) and light (Tidal again, but a different dyelot that’s much lighter).
Row 1 and 2: HDC around in dark.
Row 3 and 4: HDC around in Light
Row 5: Spike stitch in Dark (3 hdc, dc in row below) ending with 3 hdc.
Row 6: HDC around in Dark
Row 7 and 8: Repeat 5 and 6 in light
Row 9 and 10: Repeat 5 and 6 in Dark.

Notes for next time: Start in mid-back and work out to side, ch for armhole and join and then work dc around. Repeat for other side.

August 12.
I made a hat and I think this needs mitts, too, because I left the sleeves a little short, although I’m leery as to how mitts are going to wear in this yarn.

Mitts:
Ch 11 with Dragonfly, sc in back hump of ch (10 sc).
Sc in back loop of sc 24 more rows.
Put cuff together and sl st in back loops to make final rib ridge.
With Dragonfly work 28 sc in ends of rows (inc 3).
Work another row of 28 sc.
Work one repeat of spike pattern in Dragonfly and Tidal.
In first stitch work 3 hdc to set up thumb inc., then work 3 hdc in last stitch.
Work one repeat of pattern.
In first stitch work 3 hdc to set up thumb inc., then work 3 hdc in last stitch.
Work one repeat of pattern.
Work next row sl st over first 4 st and skipping last 4 st join to create thumbhole.
Work X repeats of pattern.
