In August 2009, my husband and I moved to the states from Canada, leaving my best friend Michelle behind. We missed each other a lot! For Christmas that year, I designed some amigurumi dolls of my husband and I and mailed them to her as a gift, so that even though we were 2,000 miles away, she’d always be able to have us with her.

Fast forward to the present, nearly 2 years later, and now my husband and I are expecting our first child - a boy - in less than a month. It’s hard going through this life changing event without my best friend!

I wanted to make Aunt Michelle a special gift - an amigurumi baby made to represent our newborn son - so that she now has a complete plush set of our family with her always.
