Notes

Very simple shawl pattern that I’ll definitely do again for a quick knit. I wanted it to be even more mindless for road/camping trip knitting, so I just did 1 or 2 garter rows randomly when I felt like it (I actually like it better too).

I started this shawl on our road trip and finished up when we got home. I picked the yarn to knit on the road because it reminds me of the rocks, sagebrush, water, and sky of the high desert of central and eastern Oregon where we were traveling. I love how it knit up into layers, because now it reminds me of the ancient layers of rock we saw too.
.
I love having knit pieces that evoke memories, don’t you? This seems to be especially true for shawls I knit- maybe because I choose them when I need something meditative to get me through (like my labor shawls) or for traveling.

This is shawl #9 for my 2017 Year of Shawls.
