Mods: did not knit an entire second hat as I don’t think it’s quit cold enough in Oregon to merit a double layer hat. After picking up the provisional cast on stitches I knit for another 3 inches, cast off, then folded the extra 3 inches in and whip stitched it to the inside of the hat. This gives a double layer over the ears still.
