Pattern stitch is fabulous. Rib for stretch and comfort, cable for keeping that rib over time. Very ingenious on the designer’s part. Taught myself how to cable without cable needle. Project offered lots of practice.

Its counterpart, THIS, will be worked on this Spring!

My thoughts:

• created selvage by knitting every row for seaming in the end.

• The key to the skirt, for no slippage, is the inside band with adjustable tie so that it stays in place. (Slippage = shelf time.)

• Also, the key is to seam as that is the way to pull it on and off without harm to fabric. Over time, no wear and tear or worse … unwanted stretch.

• I lengthened the skirt by 1 inch. Rule of thumb: 10 years = 1 inch longer. Haha
