Notes

I’m using the pattern as inspiration, not following it exactly. My plan is to make a small blanket suitable for car seat or stroller. It will have an intentional hole in it for the seat belt to go through.

Using larger needle, CO 55 with MC held double. Cable CO is preferred

Knit every row for 50 rows.

Row 51: K 25, BO 5, K25
Row 52: K 25, CO 5, K25. Cable CO is preferred

Knit every row for 64 more rows.

This makes a rectangle with one end slightly longer above the hole than below. I figure that the blanket needs more length above the seat belt buckle than below. I could be wrong, though!

With CC held double and using smaller needle, pick up 55 stitches across short ends, and 58 on long sides. Proceed to add border as described in the Purl Bees pattern.

(The color in the photo is all wrong; it is much more lively and baby-appropriate.)
