Finished. I learned to cable without a cable needle on this project! It is fun and makes the cabling go much faster. The color in the photo is not true, it is really a very deep purple.

I won’t use this yarn again, but it is blocking nicely and is softer after a good soak. I was very impressed that the colors did not bleed at all.

So, I’ve got one full pattern repeat done and I’m not sure whether I’m going to continue or not. Two things are making me crazy. One is the cheap Susan Bates circular needles I’m using. The cable is so twisty and uncooperative. The other is the highly variable thickness of the yarn. It can go from nearly laceweight to super bulky in a couple of inches. Nuts.
