20” shoulders

co 20 st for shoulder straps, 52 rows.

a wide braid cable is 1.25”, 20 stitches instead of 10 st=2”

pick up 40 st on front (most 4:5)

58 rows on back.

These notes are mostly mumbling. Not sure how accurate they are.

I got this construction idea from a book by Janet Szabo. It’s easy! Make the shoulder straps first. Pick up for the back by picking up 2 stitches for 3 rows along the first shoulder strap. Cast on for the neck. Continue picking up along the second shoulder strap.

On the suggestion of another Raveler (Mary?) I went back and re-did the back with some short rows for shaping.

Then do the front in two parts, mirroring the second on the first. I think the neck line is too low and steep on this sweater and will do it differently next time.
