I rated this pattern medium-hard only because of the hand sewing involved with the lining and hat band.

ETA 8/6/10: A traditional construction version of this hat will be included in a book to be published this winter.

I modified this pattern quite a bit. I changed the brim a lot; it was too short and narrow. I also used some iron-on interfacing to give it more body, and lined it with silk. It fits and looks good, but if I do another one, I’ll heavily modify it for a better fit and more traditional construction.
