Notes

Gauge- 5st/inch

Got 17 stripes total with yarn I used. Fusilli couldn’t last another 6 rows, let alone several more stripes, so had to stop or buy a second skein. Cowl is 13 inches deep.

I didn’t get great results with the “seam.” I usually don’t have issue with ladders in my knitting-in-the round, especially when I use circular needles instead of dpn’s. I’m not sure why I couldn’t get the tension right.

I improved it a bit by pulling the yarn from looser ladder rungs across the rest of the round. That was tedious, but made a nicer seam.

The yarn bled when I blocked it. It wasn’t so bad that it ruined the white parts of the Fusilli. I did a soak test, just to confirm that the Silken Straw was the yarn that was bleeding.

So, it was a fun knit and Tammy will like the cowl. I’m knitting a second in black/charcoal so that I can play around with making the seam work.
