Husband took an image (screen shot) from Donkey Kong while playing it on his PC. He took that image and made it the exact number of pixels I wanted for stitches. 160x200 stitches. We then used Knit Pro and pieces of the image (took 4 pieces) to make it into a graph.

Used single crochet and figured out a way to crochet from the front while on the back during color changes so that the wrong color hangs on the back side to make the front nicer looking.

Used Caron Simply soft and several other brands to find the right colors.
