One of my friends/customers is both a Doctor Who fan, and a Green Bay Packers fan. He asked me to knit him a Season 18-inspired variant in Packers colors. What a great idea!

The original pattern has 3 colors, so we chose to use gold where the original pattern calls for purple, and green for the other two. Some rows and interchanges were removed so that some of the green blocks wouldn’t be too ridiculously long.

My client specifically requested no tassels on the scarf. I had originally planned to do a SC border all the way around in white, as shown on the left-hand side of the swatch in the very last photo, but when I added it to the final scarf, it looked uneven. So I scrapped that and did the standard slip-stitch border around the top edge instead. Much ripping out and re-crocheting was required to keep the stitches straight! :)

I do think that this white border rather makes it resemble an American football field, just a bit - what do you think? I wanted to crochet yard lines along it periodically, but the customer wasn’t having it. ;-)

For those interested in the details, I knitted 42 sts through Block 21 of the original 52-block S18 pattern, so it’s only about 1/3 the length of a full-size S18. Finished length was about 79” after blocking, and 12” wide.
