Notes

Recipient’s favorite colors are “colors of a sunset.”

Well this was a 3-week intense labor of love! I’m pleased with it, and I think the recipient will love it!

I left my notes for this one brief, because I likely won’t attempt this layout again. If you try something like this, it might take some trial and error, and a lot of thinking/math to get the pieces all the appropriate size. I put many more notes in the first groovyghan that I made (the white-bordered one). There are some components in common to that one.

The borders were all done with the Hot Rose color - it goes very nicely with each of the other colors! The blues were minimal.

Ripple sunset: chain 84+3 (6 repeats). Used 9 colors, 4 rows per color. After squaring off, I added a bit to the top and bottom to get the right dimensions.

For the wave blanket pattern sections, instead of always having the yarn ends on the same edge, I didn’t turn before changing color (so all the sc rows start on one side, and the dc/sc rows start on the other). This evens out the bulkiness a bit from weaving in those ends.
