For their first most special birthday (Sept 9), the kitties will get crochet cupcakes with treat sprinkles, and they’ll get to keep the toy cupcakes to play with

For the top (working in spiral without joining)
Round 1: 6 sc in magic loop
Round 2: 2 sc in each st (12 sts)
Round 3: (1 sc, 2 sc) repeat around (18 sts)
Round 4: (1 sc, 1 sc, 2 sc) repeat around (24 sts)
Round 5: (1 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc, 2 sc) repeat around (30 sts)
Round 6: working around back posts of sts, sc around.
Round 7: working into back loops, sc around, end yarn.

For the cup (new color):
Round 1: hdc into blo around, join with sl st
Round 2: ch-2 (counts as first hdc), bphdc, (fphdc, bphdc) around. Join to top of ch-2 with sl st.
Repeat round 2 until you get to desired size.

I left it hollow/open on bottom. Could close it up and stuff it if you want.
