This is my first cable knit jumper! My mum bought me the pattern and yarn for Christmas, and I am so glad she did!
I changed the needle sizes down after doing a gauge swatch. The pattern is easy to follow and I am making slow but steady progress.
I have had some problems with one of the balls of yarn turning into a gigantic knot, but other than that it has been lovely to work with.
29/1/14: I have finished the back piece and am now onto working on the front. The back seems rather narrower than it is meant to- I am knitting the smallest size which is meant to be 43cm, however mine is closer to 35cm! It needs a good blocking I think to loosen up the cables!
04/2/14: Today in lectures I finished the front of the jumper and started the first sleeve! Rather surprised at how quickly I did the front, but then I do spend a lot of time knitting! Excited to see it all coming into place and to be finished with the cables! I have chosen to use paired right and left lifted increases for the sleeves.
08/02/14: I finished the last sleeve last night, and today knitted the ribbed neckline. I added an extra two stitches to what the pattern called for, because otherwise the 2x2 rib would not have worked. I also seamed both shoulder seams first and then knitted the neckline on circular needles to save seaming! Now for the boring part of joining the rest together!
10/02/14: I finished the seaming today, wasn’t too bad! It looks so beautiful, I am so ridiculously pleased with it! I took some photos of it before blocking, and it already looks amazing! Just have to wait for it to dry now before the finished product!
